Easy DIY Christmas Tree-Themed Projects

Ho..ho..ho.. It’s the Christmas season again!

For this article, we will feature DIY wood projects that pay homage to an iconic holiday symbol – the Christmas tree. These are amazing ideas since you can use reclaimed wood and materials easily found in any hardware and construction supply store. Kudos to repurposing and low-cost DIY projects!

Christmas Tree using Scrap Wood

These beauties are made from scrap wood and structured to the famed triangular tree shape. You can gather wood pieces to put together and form the tree or go for the quick route of cutting a triangular shape on an old pallet. Supplies you’ll need are nails, wood glue, handsaw or electric saw, driller – basically, any hardware and construction supply that will help you build the structure. No fancy skills required! One can opt to go rustic by retaining the reclaimed wood look with a clear varnish or go festive by spraying some paint. If you’re planning to put it in your backyard, best to glow it up with some lights for a more striking effect.

Christmas Tree Shelves

If you’re in for dual-purpose projects then a Christmas tree-themed shelf is perfect for you. You can use it as a design statement, a place to put the gifts, or use it the whole year round as a storage shelf. You can literally be reminded to make every day a Christmas day!

Christmas Tree Cupcake Holder

What a treat! This project definitely ticks off two treats at a time – a treat for the eyes and a treat for the tummy. It may be recommended to use good lumber from a hardware and construction supply store and ensure the wood is clean for sanitary food practices. Just take note that after the holiday cheers and gift-giving, this tree may already be missing more than half of its cupcake leaves 😉
